| Merry Christmas everyone! Although, I've been a little bah-hum-bug lately, I really shouldn't complain. Spencer's aunt Jill told me about the Elf on the Shelf, and I was able to purchase one at Barnes & Noble. It is a very cute idea that the Elf, (whom Dylan named Peru) sits on a shelf, or wherever else he lands, and files to the North Pole every night while the boys are sleeping and tells Santa about their behavior. It has worked for us somewhat - we're always able to say "the Elf is watching." Today, he landed in a plate hanger.
However, last week, it seemed like I had about 3 days of fussing and fighting, so Santa wrote them a letter.
My tree, I think, looks especially good this year, although this picture doesn't show it justice. I started putting it up the week before Thanksgiving, and my lights kept going out. I normally don't put as many as I did this year, so I've never not linked them all together. Who knew you should only do about 3 rows of lights at a time! Hahahah.
I typically put a fake wreath on my door, however, this year, Spence's cousin Angela was selling wreaths as a fund raiser for her high school choir, so I purchased one from her. It is so big - and beautiful. Plus, last year I bought two of the light up reindeer - however, this year we added a snow man to our yard. I typically do not like blow ups, but the boys wanted one so bad so Spence made a special trip to Wal-Mart with them to purchase one. It isn't my favorite but the boys love it and I guess that is all that matters.
Today we attempted to make ginger bread houses. Drew's class made them on Monday for this Christmas party and Dylan wanted to do one so bad that I went and got some stuff to make them. They enjoyed it! (Yes, that is a drawing on the wall with many colors from crayons...thanks Drew!)
And, finally, we have a new addition to our house. A sweet little puppy, who we named Piper, found us the day after Thanksgiving and wouldn't leave. After posting her picture and my information on several websites, flyers to three local vets, a flyer at our local grocery store and a call to Animal Control, no one has claimed her (and if they try to get her back now, they have a fight on their hands! LOL). Here she is begging for some candy during the boys ginger bread house craft. (Yes, her eyes are blue :) ).
